"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

SSgt Danny Liberty Vallance. Just a few of the patches I have on my 3 Field jackets, even though the Field Jackets seem to be getting tighter and tighter to wear. Some Soldiers are just too entitled, and we are catering to that. No I don’t think we should remove them, we earned them. Some day they will too. Never once as a private did I feel left out or get hurt feelings when I seen people with patches or badges, I looked up to them. I aspired to do the things they did. I knew that I had to earn my place and that’s just what I did.
