Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

Should we not wear uniforms so civilians don't feel bad? How about thinking of the guys who earned those patches.

Those E1s and E2s will get the oppurtunity to earn their Combat patch later in their military service. If not well that's fate.

why dont we just give participation patches to everyone so no one has their feelings hurt

I've been in 14 years and have never deployed. Sure I volunteered three times and the first I missed out from a security clearance, but I don't feel left out. If the soldiers who have them give anyone grief for NOT deploying then they should check themselves. Maybe that creates the separation and issue. New soldiers shouldn't have to have a patch to feel included in anything. That's not what they signed up for. They have the uniform compared to citizens who do not. The took the oath that others wouldn't. They also just got in. It's all timing.

Getting ridiculous. I served in the first Gulf War and we had soldiers coming into the unit after we got back. Most soldiers had questions about what we did over there. Military is to damn touchy/feely. The unit commander needs to go back to being a paper pusher and leave shit alone.

I dont think so but NOT to brag about it. One is not their fault they couldn’t get deploy. This is what I was talking to my NCO that every soldier in their first contract SHOULD get deploy!!!
