Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

What's next? Remove rank so the ones that don't have has high a rank won't feel left out.

Oh, HELL NO! Are we the most lethal fighting force ever known or have we turned into the “kinder, gentler Army”. I think those who have deployed to a war zone should be revered.

Hell, no. Those patches were earned. No one should be able to strip them away. My only caveat would be to say, don't be condescending or elitist toward those who have not earned one. Most simply haven't had the opportunity to earn one yet. I have not, but I respect, and certainly do not resent, those who have. At the same time I expect not to be looked down upon or treated as less of a soldier because I have not yet served in a combat deployment. Army Values, letter R. Look it up, if you don't have it memorized.
P.S. If you are in the military and have actively avoided combat deployment, get out.

What’s next? Not wearing personal decorations, service ribbons, or badges at the next dining in or dining out?

This question is so stupid I don’t know what to say. How about we don’t wear our expert rifle medal so we don’t offend those who can’t shoot worth a shit.
