With the fight for equality in the military and the recent decision by the Army to open combat arms MOS's to women in the Army, being so much in the news and discussion, do you think that women of the required Selective Service age group should be made to register as their male counterparts are?

As a nation we have become more aware and appreciative of the many contributions made by Americans of all races, creeds and genders, to America and her defense.
If you want to be eligible for all combat arms MOS, then it would only be fair to have to register. You want full equality, this is a step in that direction.
Should anyone be required to register? If we can't come up with enough volunteers to defend the nation, maybe we don't deserve to be a nation any more.
so men will stop bitching about how they have to sign up for something that hasnt been used in decades and probably wont be used in the near future either.
I don't believe it is fair that they can choose when to be equal. Either we are all always equal or we or not.
Equality means all the rights and duties of citizenship must be borne by each of us.
Why Not? If no one can give me a legitimate reason why not is generally my attitude. I think of the Female Israeli Soldiers. The Female Kurds the Ladies of the Peshmerga. I served with the Britts, Bodicea comes to mind.
Women now a days want to have equal rights so why not have them sign up.

Just because they sign up does not mean they will be in a combat area plus there are still many fields to try for.
