S1 said I won’t get order where as S3 said I won’t get rental car because it doesn’t mention in the course verification, but welcome letter from ait unit says I am authorized rental car. How do I contact school?

You should be on assignment right now. Your class is TDY enroute, your unit doesn't pay for the car and you're not returning to your unit after training and staying there.

You need to do your levy packet, get your orders, take them to you S3/DTS for your DD1610. If ATRRS doesn't say a rental is authorized then it's not. The school has no say on what the unit does so contacting them won't help you.

SPC (Join to see) your career counselor can adjust the report date to whatever you want. You will have to clear your unit prior to going to school and you will need a manual DD1610 approved prior to leaving

Your orders should also state 60 days early report authorized, so you will need to report after your leave ends. SPC (Join to see)

The AIT letter says that you could have a rental car while at schoo, but it is up to your current unit to authorize the rental. Somebody always pays for the bill, your unit in this case. You could drive your POV and after school get reimbursed for the mileage.

You can have your commander authorize this. You need to build your Authorization in DTS and justify the need for a rental car. If they approve the authorization then you are good. This will usually happen if the Soldier is at a location where the school doesn't have a means of transportation to the training. If that is the case then you can get rental. A lot of time you will just get mileage down to the school if you have your own car. I was at a school for 6 months and I got mileage down there and I accepted the "in and about" mileage on my own dime. If the welcome letter from the school says you can have a rental then you can use that. It is usually situational based driven. For example, if you have to leave off post for lodging and there isn't transportation.

Actually this is a TDY enroute training, the commander doesn't have any say in what is authorized. They have to go strictly off of what the school requires on ATRRS. Since this is paid by big Army funds, MTSA funds specifically, and the travel voucher is filed by on the end of PCS, they can only go with what DFAS will accept. DFAS will only accept what's on the manual DD1610, which is approved at the Division or Corps level and funded IAW the ATRRS Course Catalog information for the course.

As a rule of thumb, all MOS reclass Soldiers will PCS and the training is either TDY enroute or they will PCS to the school. There are a few rare exceptions like Career Counselor Course, or if the unit fully funds the training and theirs a slot for the MOS at the Brigade. Also, Career Counselors usually go TDY and Return
