I don't know CPT Carnovale, and I don't know the poster - but it was referred to me by a friend who is not military and who sees this as a desperation move by the woman when the Air Force hasn't been able/willing to help enforce Military Standards on a servicemember. If the Air Force isn't willing or able to help, what do you think is the best route for a non-military person to get justice from a system that seems like a "boys club" that covers it's own ass first? Go up the chain? Congressional Inquiry? As a Commander, what steps would you take if CPT Carnovale were under your Command?

This guy is a complete dirt bag. You have to wonder at the wisdom of hooking up on craigslist, but what is done is done.
This man owes his daughter support, if nothing else. The mother needs to tread carefully. Going after him for the criminal matters will result in him losing his career (rightly so) but by extension the very money she would be counting on.

I have to say that I am particularly proud of LTC Sounia and his unit for his assistance in deducing who this joker was. He definitely went the extra mile. If I run across him in my travels, I will buy him a beverage of his choice.
As for CPT Carnovale, he needs to do the right thing before this escalates beyond control. He is in danger of being in big trouble. He had one thing right. The Air Force will take a very hard look at his clearance if this comes to light.

This is despicable and I noted the name also. The guy is a real scumbag if only for the way he treated the mother and the child. I had a child that died in Philadelphia due to being a preemie and I would have given my life for David. To me. that man should be found and punished, but not so he cannot pay every dime due to the mother. I am sickened and appalled.

Has she reported this to the OSI?

Probably not - and that's exactly my point. How would a non-military civilian have any idea what the OSI is or how to get in touch with them? How do we make these systems more available to the public?

MAJ Bryan Zeski, good point, sir. It would seem that a civilian reporting it to the FBI or Homeland Security should get the OSI involved though. At least one hopes it would, although interservice rivalry sometimes gets in the way.

I don't think the FBI or Homeland Security would get involved in a lower level issue like this... do you?

MAJ Bryan Zeski, sir, identity theft and forging State ID? Certainly they would be interested in that. If the person really DOES have a TS clearance they would most certainly go after him. These are not low level beefs, IMHO.

If I knew who he was I would drop the dime on him in an instant. Especially due to the security clearance issue.
