I recently retired from the NG after 26 years. I went to get my ID card and it said E-4, SPC. What can I do to correct this problem?

I gave them my promotion paperwork that said I was promoted from SGT to SSG. They said it wasn't good enough that they have to go with what's in there system.
They made a copy of it to email it to HRC. What can I do, if anything, to correct this problem?

When was your SSG promotion date? When was your retirement date? Hell, when was your date for SGT sine they gave you SPC? Sounds like a call to your State Guard Bureau needs to happen

SSG Keven Lahde, just to double-check what the system says, a quick way to access what rank is reflected in DEERS is to go to log into milConnect*, click on the Benefits tab and chose either option (BWE or TEB) - both should tell you what your retired rank is as reflected in DEERS.
MOST likely this is yet another IPPS-A issue that the Army is working the glitches out of because it doesn't sound likely that your DEERS record was wrong every since you left the ranks of the E-4 Mafia.
HOWEVER, your retirement orders (not your promotion orders) should have been all that is needed for a RAPIDS location to update your information in the system ... at least, that's all that would be needed if you were still active duty. I assume it's POSSIBLE that it has to be entered in by the Retiree branch at HRC since they are your servicing "personnel office" now that you are retired.
I would ask the DEERS office again why (policy, regulation, etc) it can't be changed in the system since it IS possible to do. Bump it up to a higher level if you're just getting that answer from one of the individuals that is doing the data entry and all they tell you is "it's policy" or some other similar response.
