Guys, I know we've discussed stolen valor ad nauseum, but this story just hit my radar and kind of makes me think that maybe some guys might be going a little overboard on the stolen valor confrontations. There are ways to do this without ending up on the news. What are your thoughts?

This is a shame. I've spent my fair share of time calling out false Veterans and those who have embellished on their service but I've certainly done my homework first. They also ripped his ribbons from his uniform. What would you do if you saw this? I would like to think that we wouldn't stand for stuff like this and if we were there to witness it, we would do something about it.

SGT Richard H. I'd rather let 10 fakers go, than have this happen to a real vet. Let them have fake valor they don't deserve, but never, ever, take real valor from someone who does.

Check yourself before busting on someone else. A few good questions could have prevented all of this.

Yep, exactly my point. That Marine didn't deserve that and probably would have been more than happy to prove himself if those guys would have shown a little restraint and respect.

Respect is what was needed to resolve that situation. Those young marines should have actually been thanking rather that humiliating.

And they call themselves "marines". (please notice small "m"). Semper Fi! to the rest of the Corps.
