Where do you draw the line with calling out phonies? These Marines didn't even try and humiliated this Vietnam Veteran.

This is a shame. I've spent my fair share of time calling out false Veterans and those who have embellished on their service but I've certainly done my homework first. They also ripped his ribbons from his uniform. What would you do if you saw this? I would like to think that we wouldn't stand for stuff like this and if we were there to witness it, we would do something about it.

Shameful. However, at this point I'd like proof that the thugs were actual Marines and if so they should be punished by their Command for behavior unbefitting a Marine.
For those active duty folks this might be a good topic for a team briefing, guard mount, or whatever they call them these days.

Excellent point. I've not seen anything yet confirming that these were in fact Active Duty Marines.
This is what I think about when I read all of the stolen valor reports. What if you are wrong and damage are you doing.

Absolutely. The picture of this Veteran tells a lot. These Marines were in the wrong from start to finish.
When deciding to confront someone for stolen valor, consider this: Which is worse, to NOT publically call out a faker or to potentially, publically call out a genuine veteran?
I know I'd err on the side of caution.
