What does the playing of TAPS mean to you? The playing of TAPS has always been something I loved hearing...

This is the the one I had watched before with John Wayne explaining when the taps were written. It seems odd to hear Johns voice he was a good man and great actor.

Hearing Taps only brings the memories of all the "HEROS" who have not come home, and makes me well up and remeber I am lucky to be here.

A poignant and emotional rendition by a young girl.
Hearing taps always brings a tear to the eye (several, to be honest). Hearing it played on bagpipes brings even more, but not for emotional reasons. It reminds me of a comedian who once remarked (in a Scottish brouge), "Aye, laddie. Let's invent some sort of musical instrument. Something that will really piss people off..."
Actually, I love bagpipes. No instrument is better suited to Amazing Grace (another of my favorites). But, apparently not taps.
