The American Legion Magazine states on Jan 23, China test-fired a new submarine-launched ballistic missile capable of nuclear strikes against all 50 states. Taking into account that in 2013 its state-run newspaper reported that a nuclear JL-2 missile strike on the western United States would kill 5 million to 12 million people. In Addition to the threat of radical Islam, the world faces increased aggression from Russia, regimes in Iran and North Korea that are developing nuclear weapons and a revival of anti-Semitism in Europe. How is our country going to do this if the 2016 defense budget is projected to be 31 percent less than it was in 2010? This would be irresponsible and dangerous. And don't forget the personnel costs associated with these budget cuts.

After reading this I was shocked, how can we send our men and women into harms way without the proper resources needed to win a war? I personally feel the cuts should be where they are needed most. If the higher ups controlling America really loved America as we do, I no if I were President or someone with high pay like that and loved my country I would offer my very own money to protect that country. I would appreciate it if someone can help me understand this. Also if any of you think doing written petitions to the Secretary of Defense to take to help fight his case to keep the money where it belongs would help?

The reason for defense spending cuts are simple... The United States has a military larger than the next eight countries COMBINED.

I'm all for equipping our troops with the best, and supporting them without wavering (Benghazi, Bosnia, Iran hostages), but if you look at how we defeated the USSR in the cold war, it came down to out spending them... their economy simply couldn't keep up.

Instead of spending more, we just need to USE the equipment we already have.

Everyone has a voice. It only takes one to make a change, simply put.

However, we've been sending units to war with less than optimal equipment for generations, depending on your angle.
