The nationwide hunt to remove all confederate flags has gone nuts. Who would have thought they would come for Bo and Luke's "General Lee?" Coo coo coo, I tell ya, Boss Hogg must be behind this. Even though it was difficult to find anyone but a white person on "The Dukes of Hazzard," the show was about rural rednecks. It was never portraying anything that was racist. Definitely a corny show, but man. Have we gotten so completely politically correct that anything referring to the confederacy is now being targeted? If that's the case, why not remove nazi flags, anarchy flags, etc? It's the General Lee. I'm curious where this will all stop? Will t-shirts, hats and belt buckles be banned from public places next? Don't say 'not' just yet.

CH (MAJ) William Beaver I suspect the General Lee may have been named in part after the WWII tank of the same name :-)
When they rename the M-3 medium Lee tank used early in WWII. Of note the variants were referred to as Lee/Grant tanks. If those generals knew that less than 100 years after their conflicts their names would be united in a military vehicle.
Another target could be the M-3 light Stuart tank if they remember J.E.B. Stuart. It was interesting that many if not all of the tanks with names were named after civil war generals: Grant, Lee, Sherman, Sheridan, ...

Never thought I'd see the day the confederate flag became a collectors item.
Just saying......all this press has made it more popular than it probably was during the actual Confederacy.
