At WLC I did my oral history brief on him. I got a 95% on the assignment, the 5% lost was because I didn't stay under the 7 minutes allowed. I didn't care, I knew I was going to run over because there was simply too much to cover in the time allotted. Col. Howard was not just a great soldier, but a great American.

CW4 (Join to see) - I had the honor of meeting him at Ft Benning, GA, when I was going through Airborne School. He was the OIC of Ground Week at the time.

Recommended for the Medal of Honor three times, considered by some to be the most highly decorated service member of all time (based on various point systems). I never had the privilege of meeting him but had the distinct displeasure of meeting a close relative of his. The apple fell far from the tree in that particular case but Bob Howard's valor cannot be disputed. It is sad so few people know of his story but then again, it is a true testament of the legacy of the Studies and Observation Group.

His picture is on the wall at Bank Hall.. During my time in SWCS I researched just about all the men posted on the wall during staff duty. Amazing group of Americans

I know where we can find a few B52s that aren't doing anything that could help with the problem.
