The "deal" stinks. We gain next to nothing. Iran is quite capable of cheating. They will have their assets unfrozen and are free to resume global trade. They will utilize the newly freed funds to buy arms from Russia and others and deliver them to Assad and other bad actors.
This deal is a gamble of very serious proportions. If it works, it will be a coup. If it fails, it will destabilize the area in wildly unpredictable ways.

On the political front, sustaining a veto might just lead to some stuff getting done, instead of protecting the White House.

That would depend on who you are asking. A few things it did not accomplish, the release of our four American prisoners being held or their IBM stock pile. And will it really prolong the capability of them obtaining a nuclear weapon. They tell us it will but can we really trust Iran. I don't buy into the argument that they couldn't do anything for the prisoners. Iran needed the sanctions removed that is a main reason they where at the table. The G5 + 1 had all the cards. And I believe they fell for the buff by Iran. And now we have the deal that we have.

The Iran deal may fall apart. Is this a good thing?

SGT Jeremiah B. this treaty was opposed from the start by Israel and its minions here. The want to be the only nuclear power in the ME. They will suck us into another conflict in the ME.

No, because there is literally nothing to replace it with. One of the driving reasons behind this deal (and probably why it wasn't the best deal ever) was that the old one was falling apart. Russia and China are not interested in continuing sanctions. If we sink the deal, there is nothing to encourage Iran to not get a bomb.

To be fair, he has a very large Jewish constituency. I disagree with him, but that isn't something he can ignore or at the very least, has to ignore with care. I think he's taking the easy road instead of trying to sell it to them after the fact.

Yes. The deal should never have been made; it only kicks the can down the road to the point that we will have to face it again - but after Iran has nukes.

If we have to fight them we should do it now instead of 15 years from now.

LTC Bink Romanick, sir, I respectfully disagree; this deal is far worse than no deal.

It legitimizes Iran's nuclear program; its inspection regime is toothless; it gives Iran tens of billions of dollars immediately with no restriction on how it is spent; it does nothing to restrict Iran's support of terrorism in the region and around the world; and it paves the way for an Iranian nuclear weapon in 15 years even if Iran honors the agreement.

In the very near future we will be confronted with the same problems with Iran that we have today except that Iran will have nuclear weapons, the means of delivery worldwide, and we will have helped finance their operations.

If Iran doesn't keep its word - as usual - they will have deliverable nuclear weapons even sooner.

This deal is far worse than no deal at all; if we must fight them we should do it now rather than wait until they are far more lethal than they are now. The situation will not get better with time.
