Ok, I've got to ask this: what fresh hell is being created when we allow transgender service members into the ranks? More specifically, how does this change the landscape of BMT (which barracks are they assigned to?), how are barracks/dorm assignments made when such a service member reports to station and how does the rest of the military cope with this?
I have no problem with someone who is homosexual. I don't think others in the military have a problem either. However, transgender is another issue altogether. I just don't believe the military in general is ready for that.

Actually, I would argue that it's not coming fast enough, but that would depend largely on the changes that you are referring to. There are a number of ways in which the government (as a whole) needs to change/adapt/update itself to the specifically challenging world environment. Unfortunately, a lot of the structures/mindsets that currently exist are not able to keep pace, which in turn create less than desirable, and sometimes extremely dangerous, circumstances. No matter how you look at it, the only proven constant, over time, is change...which is exactly what most people are afraid of. But perhaps well informed and well outlined change can alleviate some of the stress that comes with it. IMHO. ;o)
