If you could legitimately be awarded one, just one, ribbon that you're not currently authorized to wear, which one would it be and why?
My choice: the Navy Presidential Unit Citation (PUC). I've always been fascinated by this ribbon. It's the highest unit award a service member/unit can get and it is very rarely awarded.
I've always been a big proponent of unit awards like the MUC, NUC , JMUC and the Battle 'E' and I feel they're the most underrated.
Thoughts?

How the hell do you get that. A group of us went to Slovenia while stationed Italy to bring supplies and work on their camp. We didn't get no stinking medal. :(.

None of them. I didn't join for the medals or ribbons. Didn't wear but the first 3 I ever earned (back in '77) and only when forced to wear a uniform that required ribbons. It was amusing to watch the eyes of those coming onboard to see a first class in dress blues with a buttload of service stripes and only 3 extremely low ranking ribbons showing. I know for a fact most of the officers either asked my division officer about it or actually bellied up to personnel to look at my jacket. Not that I cared.

Why duh? Not everybody knows that. If you ask most Sailors today I'd wager they've probably never heard of Zumwaldt. And if you told them you had a beard on active duty, they'd laugh you right out of the bar.

CPO Greg Frazho I must be on the out side looking in. I assume some might consider taking the time to read my bio...as brief as it is...before they assume anything. And yes...I had a full beard for many years while on AD. Somewhere, in my files I have a copy of the Z-gram that gave us back our dress blues and got rid of those damned milk man uniforms. Now, if we can find a way to get rid of that ridiculous baby-blue digital blob they attempt to call a uniform (really? on a ship? why idiot thought that one up? prolly some army dogface).....we'll be closer to looking like sailors as opposed to blobs on ships.
