I saw this . If they could do this what would it mean for so many of us ? Turn it in to a HMO to decide if you are cost effective to treat . Tell me what you think on this .

It sounds good but it would be a terrible idea. You would trade off a system with no capacity for risk and limited budget for another system terrified of lawsuits and utterly unprepared for the needs and experiences of Veterans.
I work in the healthcare industry and believe me, the administrators and lawyers of "normal' hospitals are terrified of vets. We like guns, we have hard edges and some of us are just a tad unstable (if completely safe 99.99% of the time). I've sat in at least one meeting with senior hospital leadership where I had to assure them that just because an upset vet patient had guns and strong opinions all over his Facebook page didn't mean he was going to come shoot the place up.
Just say no to privatization.

We have all seen many scandals associated with our VA facilities and care however, the satisfaction (according to the video below) is much better than privatized care.
I don't know that privatization will help.....a for profit system would undoubtedly lead to more medicated Veterans and less care for the patient (Veteran).
I am not for this idea.

Private hospitals and practices couldn't keep up with vets that come to or, are in the VA hospital. They couldn't keep up with record keeping or how the system works. I think this is similar to our government trying to take away our guns. Those dogs don't hunt.

Classic Republican scheme ...
De-fund or low-fund an organization
Stress the organization
Complain about organizations performance
Privatize organization
Give 10% of operational money to banisters as "profit"

Unfortunately, SGT, even the Military is going private. Its a trend we can't stop. We are lucky to have the benefits we have, regardless of the rank of the providers.

Yes Unfortunately we are the ones who take the cuts . In the early 80's they gave us TRICARE . In my day they promised to provide for my care I am disabled . This comes down to pushing US to HMO"S who make the choice who gets care and who they think are not cost effective to receive care.
