So I attended a Comic Con in Denver, CO last weekend, and it struck me as to why there is no Military Con? Have all the different branches, vehicles, artists, employers, va, celebrity veterans, etc, etc. for all of our active duty and veterans out there. A national thing, that most big cities could have and veterans and active members are able to attend to within certain radius'. It could also be a good time for the public to see Military type stuff and the things that veterans are doing afterwards and to reunite and talk war stories... Maybe I just think to much, or maybe its a good idea... what do you guys think?

Humorous point, but there already are conferences for military gear. SHOT show is one of them ( I believe the above picture is from it).

I'd attend, depending on the location.

Fort Leonard Wood hold something for military police once a year which covers the Army and the Marines since Marines train there too for that MOS. That's sort of like a military con.

A lot of towns already do something like this. They usually call it something to the effect of Military Appreciation Day.

It would be a fun time but it would also be one huge target for organizations that don't care for military, especially American military. I feel like it would also be loaded with hippies and other protestors although that would be kind of funny.

I've heard about this idea previously. Being that I don't know many other veterans in my area that I could reach out to (or vice versa), I think it's a great idea. No uniforms though. Maybe just your name, status (veteran, AD, Guard, etc), branch, time in service, and maybe rank on a lanyard or name tag of some sort. I think it would help a lot of people out because it's hard being "alone in a room full of people" at home where nobody understands.

I am sure many people would wear them, I wouldn't though, I haven't touched my uniforms in over four years.

There's got to be someone on RP that has working knowledge of these types of events. Where are they?

P.S. Came close to this at the smoke pit at a veteran hiring event that happened down in Dallas somewhere a couple of years ago. That was fun.

I have the ability to plan and create such an event, would need more assistance from others. The biggest question though is whether people would come or not... it would be a waste of time to gather investors, as well as a waste of there money if no body actually shows up... Just trying to see what type of info other people can provide.
