We have seen many things about our POTUS that many do not like about him, and while we have all had leaders we did not like, we could usually pick out a few things, or traits/characteristics you could use or emulate.

So, list the things you do like, keep it professional as always. What did momma say? "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing all."

I'll start:
(1) President Obama broke the racial barrier. He earned an education, became a Senator and a lawyer and is now the President.
(2) He has given millions a hope that one day they can do something great, especially those from under privileged areas.

(3) He has largely supported the military until as of recently with the downsizing, which is inevitable in every decade, our leaders have to make cuts...we keep only the best and brightest, right?

(4) He is a very supportive husband and father, and we need strong father role models in today's society where fathers are as rare as a long term-marriage.

I believe he honestly wants good things for America...I don't necessarily agree with the way he is going about it.

(5) He authorized the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

I know there aren't many fans on RP, but if there is something you like, share it if you dare.

On a serious note, I neither like nor dislike the man. He is a man doing a very difficult job, and it's a job I wouldn't have. I disapprove of the job he's doing, but I do not dislike him.

Drone strikes. I am seriously considering writing my thesis on the role of middle management by comparing the targeted elimination of middle managers in the anti-network based organization efforts. (Kill enough of those 'useless' middle managers and the organization falls apart.

Polarization. He has made it easy to identify people who read and people who watch or listen to only commentators they agree with.

ACA. I wish there was a public option, mostly this is an economics issue we should not spend 15% of GDP to get worse results than a country spending 9%. Socialized healthcare was made law under Reagan but only funded under Obama. But I digress.

Finance reform. A long way to go but better than anyone else since since the Savings and Loans scandal. CFPB is a needed expansion of oversight.

Gun Control. More guns and less regulation since Jimmy Carter.

Diplomacy, better to talk to nations than strong arm.

Not happy with the NSA and CIA under him and he should have killed the F35 long ago.

Since there are 113 responses already, the only unique answer I have would be that he has seriously soft hands and when he does a meet and greet he actually looks you in the eye even if you are over a foot shorter like me!

Ha ha ha, well I personally have a mixed view of the man as a president and could argue for or against both sides for various reasons. I have had a mixed view of each president since Bush #1 when I was a toddler. I just reconcile myself to the fact that he is our president until his term is up (debatable I know) then there will be someone new to get used to.

Soft hands are a negative attribute on a male, indicative of a soft, sedate life with no character building labor or hard work. Men judge each other by a handshake....

Good observation SGT Mohler. On the other hand a man with soft hands doesn't know anything about work, and doesn't want to..........

Obama and his PC Secularism has hand picked his flag officers and retired some of our best. He is a failure in everything and I can't think of anything he has done to improve our country.

Reply:The President of the United States take full RESPONSIBILITY for any mission failure or success. So any success chalked during the administration goes to him period. Just like praising former Prez Bush for rallying America after 9/11 attack. A patriotic call that prevented another terrorist attack on America since 9/11. Nobody can denied the former Prez this patriotic duty because he earned it period. So give what belongs to Prez Obama to Obama and former Prez Bush to Bush respectively. You might dislike Prez Obama for whatever reasons you might have but give him what is due him. Just be fair not & don't be blinded by your extreme hatred for the CIC. Just remember he is equally qualified to be the President of the United State just like all other president who came before him. The only thing different is that he is black period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TSgt Ziegbe, your comment is highly inflammatory, divisive, racist and very prejudicial. As SSgt Alexander Ingram stated, it's NOT a matter of skin color despite what YOU and others wish to do. The sad thing is it is the liberals/Democrats who mostly bring up President Obama's skin color. Why? Many, like me, are staunch conservatives and we could care less about the color of someone's skin or their gender. What truly matters is their character, their values, their ideas and their ability to lead. PERIOD. Nothing else matters.

What is racist about my comments? Is being a Christian and reject secularism? Down grading military effectiveness by PC leadership racist? Reaching for the R word doesn't belong in the military as we all train the same and bleed red.

He overhauled a delapitated va loan finance system that before 2008 approved veterans for very little. I own my dream home because of that man

I just bought a house several months ago. I did a traditional 20% down 30 year loan since the VA options would have cost me more in the long run. If they were truly Vet friendly, I would think the VA option would be equal to or better than a traditional loan.

Unfortunately for vets in California the max amount you could be approved for. 160,000 pre 2008, was enough to by a card board box! The amount of loan you can get now is much higher

The President shows perseverance. He found out closing GITMO was not possible so he has been releasing prisoners in small numbers. They are religiously oppressed who are returning back to serving in their lord's name.

Sorry, I keep circling around and around but I can't see which direction you're looking from. For every "positive" aspect you've mentioned I see nothing but failures. The only thing I can honestly give him is that glib silver tongued mouth.
