We have seen many things about our POTUS that many do not like about him, and while we have all had leaders we did not like, we could usually pick out a few things, or traits/characteristics you could use or emulate.

So, list the things you do like, keep it professional as always. What did momma say? "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing all."

I'll start:
(1) President Obama broke the racial barrier. He earned an education, became a Senator and a lawyer and is now the President.
(2) He has given millions a hope that one day they can do something great, especially those from under privileged areas.

(3) He has largely supported the military until as of recently with the downsizing, which is inevitable in every decade, our leaders have to make cuts...we keep only the best and brightest, right?

(4) He is a very supportive husband and father, and we need strong father role models in today's society where fathers are as rare as a long term-marriage.

I believe he honestly wants good things for America...I don't necessarily agree with the way he is going about it.

(5) He authorized the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

I know there aren't many fans on RP, but if there is something you like, share it if you dare.

How did so many people take a question like "Things you like about President Obama?" which I am not sure if this is a question or a statement (RP admins?) and turn it in to something about Presidents Bush, Clinton etc. I assume the poster wants to know what you like about President Obama.

I can say there are a few a couple things I like about almost anybody (don't get silly nothing good about Hitler, Mao, Castro etc.). I like that he will not be the president in 2 years. I like what I hear about him making beer in the White House. From what I have heard and read he has good taste when it comes to beer. OK after those two things I am at a loss.

Two things I like about Obamacare, and therefore the Prez: 1) Children being able to stay on their parents insurance until age 26, and 2) Coverage for pre-existing conditions.

There's still plenty to not like. It's a shame that we continue to swing between extremist positions. We desperately need a viable 3rd party in this country.

There has been two times in my adult that I was ashamed of Our President, President R Nixon and President Obama. This man has set our Great country into a "Tail Spin" that will take years to correct,if ever. Not one country truly respects the USA under this President. The sad fact is there is no reason to respect BHO and the USA with him as the Leader. He coined the phrase "leading from the rear" . If that is not then the State Of the Union address cemented as place as a bit player on the World Stage

Sir, I believe the phrase was coined by his detractors who wanted a name for his hands-off strategy. Our nation has survived worst Presidents. We will be fine.

SSG Michael LoGiudice I would like to thank you for your effort to challenge the military community to name something they like or admire about President Barack Obama. I read your list and was frankly very impressed with your assessment. I think it was a fair and honest evaluation from your perspective and I respect your for that. What is disappointing is that other individuals cannot think of one thing they like or admire about him. I think the history books will show that President Obama has made significant contributions to this country. It may not come in my lifetime, but I do believe his administration will have long lasting postive effects on this country.

I do not believe he is out to destroy these United States. I believe he is trying to do what he feels will help this country grow and become less dependent on foreign resources and instead become a provider.

I don't believe in change for change sake, however the world is changing and we have to change with it. We cannot isolate ourselves and pretend this international issues will not occur. We have to be ready and change in the way that is best for the country.

I keep hearing people say "They want their country back". You have your country! You have a constitution and democracy that other countries try to emulate.

President Obama is doing what he feels is best, just like every other President since the Declaration of Independence was signed.

What truly saddens me is the amount of hatred and disrespect I see towards our Commander-In-Chief. It's one thing to disapprove or disagree with someone, but the outright hatred I've witness in these past six years is appalling.

Yes, I'm a Democrat, but I did not agree with everything President George W. Bush did I did not "hate" the man. I saw SOME good in him. Everyone has some good in them.

I keep hearing people say he is a liar. I think every American President has been less than truthful sometime during their administration. Some of the deception was intentional some of it was not, but they have all deceived.

I don't see where he has done anything any worse than any other President. In some areas he hasn't done many things as bad as other Presidents.

The economy is growing, the rich are getting richer because of the stock market being at an all time high. Unemployment is down. We still have the strongest military in the world. Everyone still has their guns. We are not under Sharia Law! Gas is under two dollars a gallon. Osama Bin Laden is dead! If these accomplishments were made by any other President, everyone would be singing his praises. The only reason I am seeing so much negativity is because people hate him.

Sgt Jones, out of honest curiosity, are you familiar at all with the Constitution of the United States specifically Article 1, Section 8 as well as Amendments 3, 9 and 10?

I like how the question is worded. I firmly agree with the professionalism of not trash talking our Commander in Chief in an open forum.

Though I am more of a moderate and tend to stay in the middle, I vote Republican based on certain conservative views, to include the raw support of the military. However, I also agree with a few liberal causes.

With that being said, I like the fact that he initially renewed the political process for the younger generation. Even if the younger generation gets "it" wrong, they are still more involved now then they were before. I truly believe the next election will be more about policy and less about popularity.

We have had both sides of the coin - to the extreme - over the past 4 terms. Now let's vote a candidate that meets us in the middle.
