We have seen many things about our POTUS that many do not like about him, and while we have all had leaders we did not like, we could usually pick out a few things, or traits/characteristics you could use or emulate.
So, list the things you do like, keep it professional as always. What did momma say? "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing all."
I'll start:
(1) President Obama broke the racial barrier. He earned an education, became a Senator and a lawyer and is now the President.
(2) He has given millions a hope that one day they can do something great, especially those from under privileged areas.
(3) He has largely supported the military until as of recently with the downsizing, which is inevitable in every decade, our leaders have to make cuts...we keep only the best and brightest, right?
(4) He is a very supportive husband and father, and we need strong father role models in today's society where fathers are as rare as a long term-marriage.
I believe he honestly wants good things for America...I don't necessarily agree with the way he is going about it.
(5) He authorized the killing of Osama Bin Laden.
I know there aren't many fans on RP, but if there is something you like, share it if you dare.

1) The Affordable Care Act - the concept is good, but with some bad implementation and execution. The opposition always points out how expensive health insurance has become due to this law. Question: how many people file bankruptcy because they don't have health insurance and can't afford the medical bill each year before this law? Do you think these unpaid bills just magically disappear? We have a problem and we need to fix it. I am not saying that The Affordable Care Act is the ultimate solution. But it is better than what anybody has come up with before, which is NOTHING.

Fung, glad to see you are still drinking the Kool-Aid. The way you picked these talking points is interesting. Principles of Excellence, hmm ok. Sure. Preventing and Responding to Violence against Women and Girls GLOBALLY? So that's where the Trillions of debt is going, nice to know. What about the flood gate of Women and Girls that got abused while coming illegally to the country on Obama's open invitation? Or the Womena and Girls that are raped and barried alive due to his imcompetnat dealsing with the middle east....How in the world did you make it to SFC, you must be a PT stud because it's not from your brains.

Unemployment IS down steeply under President Obama:
"The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) tracks six definitions of unemployment from the narrowest (U-1 at 2.7% Seasonally Adjusted in January) to the broadest (U-6 at 11.3% SA). The “official” definition is U-3 (5.7%). None is more correct than the others; everyone picks the metric they prefer.
Clifton could object to use of the U-3. He gives sound reasons why we should use one of the broader measures. That doesn’t mean that the official U-3 is “a big lie”. Do we get to call Gallup’s numbers “lies” if we disagree with their definitions?
Compare the Gallup and BLS numbers
Here is Gallup’s data for January; here is the BLS report. When calculating unemployment Gallup uses as the denominator the population over 18 years old. For U-1 to U-3 BLS uses the civilian non-institutionalized labor force age 16+; for U-4 to U-6 BLS uses broader definitions. Gallup’s are not seasonally adjusted (NSA).
The Gallup definition of unemployment corresponds roughly to the BLS U-5 NSA number: “Total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus all other persons marginally attached to the labor force, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force.”
•Gallup: 7.1%. BLS 7.4%.
The Gallup definition of underemployed corresponds roughly to the BLS U-6 NSA number: “Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force.”
•Gallup: 15.8%. BLS: 12.0%.
Both Gallup and BLS show similar steep declines. Gallup’s unemployment number dropped from 10.9% in January 2010 to 7.1% in January [2015] (-35%). The closest comparable BLS metric (U-5 NSA) declined from 12.0% in January 2010 to 7.4% in January [2015] (-38%).
Which is more accurate? The Gallup survey is 30,000 people. Its accuracy suffers from the increasing number of people using mobile phones or refusing to do surveys (see this about the problems with their 2012 election surveys). The BLS Household Survey is twice the size (60,000), with an elaborate process to ensure accuracy (see details here; see their work to compensate for rising non-response bias).

Unemployment numbers are false! That biggest down fall about statistics, anyone can change a couple of numbers to get the result they want. Umemployment rate is actually closer to 13% if not more. They don't count people that have just given up on looking for work. They don't count full-time students either.

- He repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." I know this is controversial territory, but I'm a firm believer in egalitarianism which by definition must include homosexuals.
- He increased support for veterans by cleaning house at the VA and increasing funding. Reform at the VA is ongoing, but good steps have been made and more money for veterans seeking help is always a good thing in my book.
- He saw that Osama Bin Laden paid for his act of war. Yeah, he wasn't personally responsible and didn't personally kill him, but he was the Commander in Chief when the raid went down and if he's going to be blamed for everything bad that happens on his watch then he deserves to take some credit for the good.
- He's made us less reliant on foreign oil. Under his watch our nation is now the worlds top oil producer which from a strategic, geopolitical, and financial perspective is fantastic.
I could add more, but four seems like a good number, and I look forward to seeing what our next President accomplishes during their term(s).

I must say that although I dont agree with point #1 I can say I respect all of the above views with the exception of #4. If you think it was Obama that decreased our dependence on foreign energy rather then the "villainous" private sector , despite liberal efforts to stifle oil and coal innovations you are greatly mistaken. Do more research please.

He has a good personality. I think he has done a good job of keeping his daughters out of the limelight. As far as our Commander In Chief, I don't think he knows what to with the worlds problems. He won't make any decisions on his own. I know he has to go through the chain of command, but he's the big link. He's our CIC and I respect that, but he also makes a lot of poor decisions. I really think ever since FDR, all of the presidents are pretty equal in the way they handle the job. FDR was, in my opinion, the greatest president this country has ever had.
