This looks to be a pretty good TV series about Vietnam.

A refugee family settled in Texas and began a shrimping venture. They were all miniscule except for a son who was 6 foot and 240 lbs and played linebacker in High School. He eventually starred at Texas A&M and played for the Cowboys for several years. This shows me how important it is for immigrants to buy into the American way of life.

When I'm in Rockport Texas I always do business with some of the Vietnamese who own shops there. They are happy to be here but they but would much rather be back in Vietnam. As for me I'm trying to put the Vietnam War behind me. It may be a good TV show but I can't watch.

I had a good friend who left Saigon so quickly that he was just wearing blue-jeans, t-shirt, dog tags and his .45 pistol. He was with the US Embassy in Saigon as a Staff Sergeant. Plus he was mariied with one kid. I don't know how he pulled this out, but he did. Wife and all. I met him at 29 Palms MCB in 1975. I was over there attached to RLT-4, from 12th Marines at Camp Haugue. General Al Gray was in Command of the 4th Regiment at that time. I think. I was a Corporal then. S/F, James
