Great job to all who set a goal and use their mental and physical toughness to achieve said goal. Once the standard is met regardless of who has achieved it is a great accomplishment. We set standards for a reason. All people in all branches have met or exceed standards to be able to be a part of this small group who serve.

I don't care if it is a female, male, green or purple in color.....it pumps me up when I see these videos of individuals/teams overcome a physical challenge with mental toughness.

SPC Nate Lamphier I agree, regardless of the gender seeing this level of determination is a very inspiring sight. It makes those who watch feel invested in the achievement.

INTERESTING --- particularly since not long ago (on another thread), I had one of our Admins tell me that it wasn't necessary to have an actual question. I might add that there are many discussions on RP that are not posed as questions.

===================

RallyPoint updated the name of your discussion from "This soldier refused to give up on an Army road march ..." to "This soldier refused to give up on an Army road march ... What are your thoughts?", because of the following issue(s):

• Question title must be an actual question

The discussion title was changed by COL David Fleming III. Please refer to our RallyPoint Answers Title Guidelines for more information. If after reading through the guide you still have any questions, feel free to just reply to this email. Thanks!

Ahh
So instead of as requested responding to the email with your question you elected to post it to the forum.
okay I'll happily explain my methodology behind adding the tag ( note I use the word added not changed I did not remove anything you chose to add nor change anything you added I simply placed an additional tag to draw more attention to your post )
Though the discussion itself was not centered on gender many of the comments and responses did go that direction I felt the adding of a tag of gender would draw forth even more personnel to discuss the excellent topic you posted.
It is in no way a reflection of you or anything you have to think about the topic it's a search tag that allows others to find the thread
If you feel strongly that this topic has absolutely no regard to gender. That gender is not being discussed or that gender in no way is relevant to the discussion I'll happily remove it as I would have had you responded to the email

Despite your condescending tone, what mechanism I use to respond is my choice. I chose to post the response right here on RP so that it got some visibility in to the arbitrary manner in which these actions are taking place. After all, a little "sunshine" never hurts anyone ... does it? More to the point, if mine were an isolated case, that would be one thing --- but comments posted by other members in related discussions would indicate otherwise. BTW, I appreciate the explanation --- perhaps you should consider providing explanations in future emails to members. Semper fi ...

I miss being able to see the most current discussions and the most popular discussions. I'm still trying to get used to the format change. I don't like it.

This soldier shows a mental fortitude that few soldiers can match. Gender and MOS are irrelevant. I have seen experienced infantrymen who couldn't pass a 12-mile foot march in 3 hours. Was she combat effective at the end? No. But I have the belief that a soldier that shows that kind of mental toughness will rectify the situation and improve their physical conditioning.

I was reading a posting about this on a FB group for military people where they were saying how she was falling all over herself and she doesn't deserve it. This upset me, I feel like there an element of people in the military community who are willing to eat up anyone who doesn't meet their macho standards. It just doesn't go with the band of brothers mentality I have.

Lots of support here with a few blemishes. For those of you who pushed beyond yourself just as she did, it changes you. You discover a new level that you'll improve on even more. I bet her wit, intelligence, and heart are also larger for it. Well done.
