Being a hero is being just as brave as the other guy but staying longer.. You can't Buy or teach class.. My Aunt was a flight attendant .she used to say.. You can buy a first class ticket but you can't buy class. Most of the problems on a plane come from 1st class

I was in Iraq when he first got elected. I immediately started to see how his election changed the atmosphere of how we related between each other. I did not like it and dislike it even more today.
Our country needs to be united because we are at war, and we will be ripped to shreds if we are too occupied squabbling between each other trivial stuff.
This was some of the things happening in the military within some of the units I was in before I retired in 2014.
In combat, the focus of daily life is not finding reasons to express our dislike for each other.
Instead, Our focus better be on those all around us wanting nothing but to kill us all regardless of our race, sex, or religion. All they see, in my opinion is the American Flag.
So, come on lets get united military community and focus on what is important. Our enemy is watching and will exploit us especially in the psychological war through our polarized media. Let's stop this.
I am an American citizen not African American. I was not born in Africa. There are citizens born in Africa that has become Americans. They deserve to be call African Americans. I was born in California.
Please just call me an American citizen. My definition of an American is one covered under our Constitution not my race, religion, or political affiliation.

LTC (Join to see) - Simple.. You have all types and religions in the military.. Some may not agree or even care about MLK. There are some that would support what Ray did.. Just as there are Muslims and Christians, there are KKK members in the Military, practicing witches and Atheists. If you are going to have a moment of silence for the Christians then you have to give the Non believers the opportunity to have the same amount of time to do whatever it is they do. If there is a Soul food day at the DFAC there needs to be a Native American foods day, or Mexican or..so on and so on When the Military starts trying to please all the different Political and Religious groups in our family it is impossible.. Our service members are allowed to wear shirts with "Free Che Guevara" A mass murderer and American hater. But you can buy this T-shirt in the BX/PX. SM's display flags of their respective Countries on and in their vehicles on base.. This is against Military regulations, but is allowed. Only the American Flag may be displayed on a vehicle and ONLY when done so Properly and respectfully. You can make a soldier take down a rebel flag and not the Puerto Rico flag. They both need to come down. Diversity is allowing ALL the people to have their individual belief REGARDLESS of how stupid you may think it is just because its not your belief. An impossible task in the Military.

Great post. I am 2nd generation American of Mexican decent and have never been to Mexico. Born in Texas, raised in Michigan. I have tried to stay away from; black, white, hispanic, Asian race. There are not that many races, BUT one, and we are all fall the human race. Just different tribes and tongues. This president has been very divisive and makes this couple unattractive.

SSG (Join to see) - murderers do not constitute a political or religious group. Anyone that supported the murder of MLK by Ray is not deserving of a special day of recognition. Diversity can relate to a lot of things, such as religion, ethnic groups, sexual orientation, etc. But the notion that you need to have equal representation of murderers and white supremacy groups to somehow balance out nonviolent civil rights groups is quite frankly absurd.
