A while ago I asked about best places to retire. Some said you wouldn't think to foresake our country. In an avalanche of "what if" scenarios where the US becomes something other than what it's "supposed to be"and Chile adopted the US Constitution (pre-socialism) and the ideals that made this country great, would you remain committed to the North American land mass between Canada and Mexico?

Can't imagine losing our Constitutional protections and process. There are plenty of people in our nation who say they're patriots, but their values are simply bigotry and fear. It's important to strengthen our democratic republic, so we can prevent our country falling away from freedom.

Capt Michael Greene - You need to look up the 1939 short story by Robert Heinlein "If this Goes On" About a christian religious dictator that takes control of the US prior to 2100. You can find that story combined in the book Revolt in 2100 and Methuselah's Children.

America is an ideal - it has no bounds. It's the belief that all people are created equal, that we are endowed by our creator certain unalienable rights. That we are born with life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It's also a belief that brave men and women will protect these ideals from anyone who dare threaten it. ;)
My hope is that America's freedoms expand far out beyond our country to others. Though they may not be "Americans" - they may adopt similar if not near identical rights and freedoms.

I'd remain here and fight for the American people, those I am sworn and bound to protect. Until this country's government becomes so corrupt that it turns on its own people, I am here to stay. Even then, if and when that day comes, you can expect to see me at the forefront of the revolution, holding the constitution in hand - circled in it the American peoples' right to overthrow a corrupt government and demand it begin anew.

I have no intention of going anywhere else to live ever ! from 1640 up until now in 2016 and from the French and Indian war, the American Revolution and up to me in Viet Nam My family has fought in all those wars except the civil war. i have no intention either of abandoning our democracy and way of life. That is 366 years My family has lived here and in Massachusetts. I object to anyone that threatens what many of us have fought for.
