Topless equality for Males and Females; Do you think this should actually be considered?

Thousands of people paraded shirt-free around the world Sunday to push for laws that would allow women to go topless in public; allowing women to go topless where ever men are allowed. What issues do you foresee if this is approved, And are you for or against it? Oh, and please be civil with your replies as I'm really curious as to what you think about this, thank you!
As far as I'm concerned, I would be against it due to the immature goobers who may see this as an opportunity to "take it a step further". I do understand why the challenge for equality, I just don't think this is one that should be pursued, as doing so will only appeal more to the predators... Also of note, there are some guys and gals out there that really just don't look... "aesthetically pleasing (?)" going topless...

Yeah I do think it should be equal but then again America in general are and will always be a prudish state.

I'm supportive of this actually. No, I don't think people in general should just walk around topless, so you could say I'm more supportive of mandating everyone wear shirts everywhere, otherwise keep it equal. The fact the breasts are sexualized is actually considered a fetish, since it's not a primary sexual organ. If what I've read before is correct, they're considered a secondary, along with facial hair, and I was never required to cover my beard. No, I don't think they should be on the same level, but they are so that's how I see that. The big thing here is, we want to hide women's bodies because we can't teach our young to respect them and not see them as sexual objects. Give them equal rights, persecute those who can't keep their hands to themselves, and don't take away from someone just because they aren't as aesthetically pleasing.

First of all we must be realistic, most of the women that would go topless are not pin up material so you are going to have to look at a lot of glands that may not be very appealing.
You can make the same argument about complete nudity too. I know breasts are not a sexual organ but when it comes to human (especially western) mindset the curves of women are very appealing sexually to men. That is just the way it is.
A topless beach, okay, a nudist beach/colony, okay. Public nudity/topless, no thanks. I have enough bad dreams.
If it is such a great idea how many would want their mother, wife and/or daughter etc walking around topless for others to ogle? My guess is very few. When the notion is about "other" women being topless then it seems more appealing to some.

SSG Michael Livesey. You are a little more than presumptuous Mike. First, you needn't worry about my relationship with my wife of 28 years. She does not "do as she pleases" we do what makes sense for US. Marriages don't really work when someone does what they please so either you may be simply ignorant or perhaps unmarried and don't know how marriages actually work.
The only personal problem I have is people in the military that have the word intelligence in their job description and think that word describes them rather than the material they handle. So why don't you take your "bad self" and go piss down someone else back and tell them it's raining.

@SSG Michael Livesey I'm glad you liked it sonny. Perhaps you should try a more subtle approach and you might get a better result with people. Some of us moved on as we had other opportunities to pursue in life. I'd put my testicular fortitude as a Marine up against an intel analyst in the Army any day. I am sure you do a great job and serve your country well but you might want to work on your people skills a bit.

I guess this is where my actions and ideas don't match. I feel a woman should be able to go top less but I'd kick my daughter's behind if she tried it at home. Mine are the only boobs to be seen around the house. I was not ready for her to become a teenager.

Punishment and Public/Social acceptance are two separate sides of the same coin. The government should not punish women for being topless. Laws should be applied equally....

Humans are animals too. We are the only animals that use something manufactured to cover ourselves. If the laws were to change, for a woman to walk around topless would be considered taboo by our generation and the next few generations to follow. But just like anything else, as time goes by, it would become more acceptable and less taboo. The sexual nature of a woman's breasts are because we make them sexual. Personally, I wouldn't mind it changing. Yes, I may become aroused around some topless women, others not so much. How do you think women feel around topless men? I can assure you, that some men, especially those who take excellent care of themselves and spend a respectable amount of time in guy, are found to be very arousing to some women (and even some other men). Women however have a greater ability to be discrete when they are aroused, and therefore, we don't know how taboo even men walking around topless can really be.

Although reasonable your argument is. You have to remember that when comparing us to animals, we as a species like to believe we are civilized and in such thinking, we cover ourselves. It's a perspective of modesty. Now, do I disagree with your statement? No, by all means, no. But, you have to get 350,000 million folks to agree and change their collective perspectives on society. Europe has got the idea and practice, but you are offering no way of changing the lifestyles of 7 billion minds. Go to the middle east for example. Present your offer and you'll have no head. Here in the bible belt, present that ideal and they'd laugh you all the way to California.
My point is, at this exact point in history, your presentation is out of the human species reach. Too much religion, too much violence, too many humans.
