Trying to get back on jump status, what's your guys' opinions on the T-11? Last time I jumped was Oct 2010, so I'm not sure what to expect.

I've been on jump status almost my entire career on both static line and HALO. my body is severely hurting and all doctors agree it's from jumping out of planes. It's been great, but if I could do it again, I probably would.

i was only able to get 31 jumps in my short airborne career. But I had an army doctor tell me "I probably did not get my neck injuries from jumping out of planes, unless I hit the ground really hard. " degenerative disk disease from C1-C7, several procedures later and 40% disability for my neck, I think the old bastard had no idea what he was talking about.

CW4 Anthoney Lowry - He sure didn't have a clue! I have every lumbar disk on the Non-Mission Capable list, jacked up disks (L1-L5) left sciatic nerve kicking by but every now and then, plantar fasciitis on both legs. Screw it, let's jump!

I like it more than the T10. It oscillates less and the impact is softer. But it's twice as heavy and when jumping combat equipment you're humping 80-100 pounds to the turn in point.

I don't mind a little extra weight, I've put on about 40 lbs since I was a scrawny little guy in the 82nd, so a softer landing would be much appreciated!

Its not a bad parachute. Its the opposite of the T10. Not forgiving upon exit but forgiving for the landing. Slipping with it is pretty much non-existent but when your intent is to get to the ground and avoid fellow jumpers , a one riser slip will work after a few seconds. Wear it close otherwise you'll have a fun jump.

Very good run down. 6 seconds instead of 4 on the opening. Parachute does not deflate as quickly as the T-10 when you hit the ground. Be prepared to release your canopy or be prepared to be dragged across the drop zone. Feet and knees together and we will see you on the DZ.
