So this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone except our leaders in Washington. Is Turkey with us or not? Susan Rice doesn't know! http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0I30IE20141014?irpc=932

MSgt Curtis Borders - Ya see Joe Biden was right! Our friends are our worst enemies. Then they made him go back and apologize. Is this the most comical administration or what?

It's unfortunate MSgt (Join to see) that we don't know if Turkey is with us or not. It seems they are reluctant to get involved and I don't know the extent of why...

Turkey hasn't been on our side in well over a decade, first the refusal to allow us to use their bases as a staging point during the Iraq War, then their movement towards being more theocratic in the years since and now this? I'm surprised they even are in NATO any more. France used to be the country that most acted against us but now Turkey has taken that crown from them. The issues with the Kurds and Turkey has raged for decades. Parts of what are now Turkey and Iraq were once Kurdistan, but when the European powers left the Middle East, they formed borders and countries without any consideration of traditional ethnic groups which has helped keep the region very unstable.

Really? I see an enormous amount of misinformation on this topic, but you are the first to assert that there was once an entity called "Kurdistan" from which Turkey and Iraq were formed.

A bit of an update some sailors were attacked in Turkey by a Turkish youth organization. More proof that we have to be careful trusting Turkey to have our interests and back in mind in dealing with ISIS.
