I'm not sure how accurate Hollywood will make this movie but it is based on a true story. This looks like a great movie about courage and survival in the face of unimaginable odds.

Did you happen to check out "Fury"? They can't make enough WWII movies if you ask me.

And I'd read the film you'd sent in had been done from his autobio, as is also mentioned on here by another, I've been meaning to get it, I've looked through it online slightly, I've wanted to send for it, I just haven't had a chance, so as to be able to compare the text to the film, I find such literary a cinematic comparisons an interesting hobby....

Trust me, I've sent this in before, this is also just as true, though obv less well known, it was apparently produced at the same time as the other, I'd read, about a trio of naval enlisted aviators in WW2, who had to manage to survive ditching at sea, and getting back to a Pacific island, heir leader, the Navy enlisted aviator, was decorated for how he led the other two to being able to have all Tyree survived, I'd known of naval enlisted aviation crew, incl naval aviator pilots, as I was aware such things existed in WW2, as I'd also said, I'd sent this other film in before, trust me, I'd seen the hero in the one you'd sent in on the tube after his story became famous because of the film about him, however his film evidently overshadowed this one, despite it also getting quite good reviews, though the other apparently had more Hollywood clout, which was why I gather it got more notice, though his story is, I assure you, just as heroic in its own way, certainly, I'd be most eager for any thoughts, enjoy....

I watched the movie a month or so ago and it was great, very emotional as well. I haven't read the book but that is next on my list. It really showed resiliency at its best in my opinion.

I finally go to see the movie and it is definitely worth seeing. The book was twice as good (as usual) and is a must read.

A most excellent movie! It shows the intestinal fortitude one individual had in the face of his captors. At first I thought it was a little long winded but as things pieced together, it needed to be to show the hardships suffered by this great individual.
