I previously served with LTG Mulholland at USASOC from 2012-2014 and noted that he was an excellent Commander and cared for his unit and people under his command. Does the Army have a problem with colorful statements or have we as a service just gotten soft because a leader expressed his displeasure at a briefing. Thoughts or comments?

That is terrific. We as a society have become to soft. Even worse in the civilian work force....

Isn't the f-bomb a mandated Army adjective??? Seriously though, I have no issues with a commander using colorful language to get a much needed point across.

That's what I thought too, I can't believe they did an investigation about it pretty ridiculous. His point was well made, the brief was jacked up, fix it or guys would be fired. I am pretty sure Admiral McCraven would have done the same thing if he had received the brief.

seems ridiculous, and even more so that they are talking about something that happened over a year and a half ago

Ya this should not be an issue. He got pissed. He is the boss. Deal with it and move on. People are way to sensitive.

I personally like him, he has a got some big brass balls and is not afraid to call it as it is.

Seriously. We're talking SOCOM here. I thought them Operators were immune to things like bullets, nerve gas and foul language..... ;o)

MAJ (Join to see) - I recall an excellent 1 Star General lose it and swear in the BDE TOC, in IRAQ, when the S2 had called the rear det commander to tell about a soldier killed in combat during a normal SOP of blacking out comms. The rear det. by- passed the chain of command/concern and informed the wife to stay home to be prepared for Casualty assistance team to come by. The S2 was relieved and prosecuted, the rear det. commander was relieved. Sometimes flag officers have a good reason to get upset!
