Small drones with infrared detectors for scout platoons to deploy ahead and around them. They could alert to ambushes and inadvertent meetings with enemy forces. Also great for locating snipers and other enemy positions while keeping their heads down.

Today's Military will benefit more than all other advancements through unmanned vehicles, such as UAVs and drones. No question.

SHOT LOCATOR- A device that would let a soldier know direction of incoming small arms fire, distance would be a bonus. When being shot at in urban or mountainous environments it is difficult to locate where the fire is coming from. A shot locator would allow units to get effective fire on tgt, saving lives and helping the enemy die for his cause!

Developement of Super Sonic missiles and super sonic missle interception. With Russia and China developing/testing/deploying these missiles, it is a GREAT threat to the USA and other countries. The can travel farther, faster, and it is almost impossible to intercept them with certainty. The future is here, and other countries are further along than the USA!

Small with a huge impact to the average warfighter. Advancements in smaller and longer lasting batteries. From the technician to the boots on the front lines not having to worry about your flashlight dying in the middle of what you are doing is a huge bonus. Lighter and longer lasting also means smaller and gives the warfighter the ability to carry more of what they need to take the fight to the enemy. Smaller and lighter batteries also means we can get more technology into the field and in the hands of those who need it on the front lines i.e. drones, medical equipment, optics, etc...

Microchips inserted in those on active duty would make it easier to locate a missing squad member when in combat and they would make it infinitely easier to identify a battlefield casualty. All pertinent information about the soldier, ie, blood type, SSN, etc... could be loaded onto the chip. They are available for domestic animals and are pretty painless when inserted. This could replace dog tags which can be noisy and they reflect light. I would only advocate for this if there is an understanding that the chip must be removed upon discharge from military service. No one should be allowed to re-enter civilian life with the chip still embedded.

We have all heard the saying that computers are as good as the programmers programming them, testing them and approving these information systems for human interface. Hence, information systems are as good as humans minds. Technology advances are great, but not at the cost of skilled and intelligent leaders and operators.

Someone needs to identify problems to be solved and put together solutions (FLow Charts) to reslove achieve various outcomes....programers know coding and not solutions to problems.

PO2 Norman Stanski, coders are not decision makers. Coders are those Teammates whose subject matter expertise helps leaders arrive at suitable choices of feasible solutions. Designers build flowcharts to demonstrate how the program will execute commands and options, till the outcome is achieved. The coders enter the commands, options and they identify the environment, as per the flow design. Testers test the program to ensure no gaps are encountered during deployment. Delivery teams deliver tested programs to clients, deploy the program and then, provide after-sales-service to clients. In IT, the teams are large and hybrid.

In today's time, most wars are based on the latest technology like drones, satellites, etc. So these types of technologies are more helpful in today's wars. We can attack our enemies by sitting in the offices.

For this, you should be aware of the latest technologies, and for this, you should read the latest technology news daily. You can read these types of news here: http://www.technows.com/ Hope my answer will give some impact on this thread. Thanks.
