What advice would you give a 91B in order to strengthen my packet for Warrant Officer selection?

I’m starting to build my packet now, any advice would be great! I’m currently deployed and was promoted right before we left the states, so don’t have a DA Photo but will get one upon our return home sometime this summer.

I was selected in September (first time select) my class is in July. I believe your DA photo can be taken in UCP while deployed. Get in contact with a warrant recruiter on the USAREC website they can assist you with your packet seeing as your deployed. I would highly suggest that you do everything in your power to get your packet done asap. Though covid may push board schedules at least you can get yours "board ready" earlier. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, WO1 John C. made a lot of good points. My packet was pretty standard, I did it exactly how the warrant recruiting website laid it out, with no additions. I've read a lot of other board proceedings with the presidents comments and most do not care about the fluff. Your NCOERS, Photo, and resume are probably the most heavily weighted. I also had 2 ETPs get approved for some stupid stuff I did as a private. Again get it done, if you have any question or need an example of anything let me know.

If you can where you are stationed I would look for a 915A who just got pinned and went through all the training you will have to when you get picked up. Since they just went through it they should be able to help you out on putting it together and if you haven’t done it yet should be able to point you to a Senior Warrant for the recommendations you need. I know that can be hard finding for some of the MOS.

Your ERB, NCOER’s and experience will speak for itself. Work on your Warrant Officer Resume summary and also your LORs. Essentially what I did for mine was write them myself then handed to the CO and BC and if they agreed, they signed it.
