What are 3-5 things that are important to you to see on a civilian company military landing page that will make you want to peruse the site?

Few things....
- if there are pictures of military people, they can't be jacked up. File photos of people wearing jacked up uniforms, photos of,other countries' people and equipment (like the DNC using a photo of Russian ships in a patriotic spot), you get the idea, are a deal breaker. It demonstrates how little they care.
- if you talk opportunities and programs and there is no substantial information, I leave the site.
- success stories of other veteran employees
- profession of appreciating military skills has to bridge to call backs and actual understanding of a military person's resume. Outlining on the web site potential linkages between military career fields and careers in that organization would be helpful.
- the most effective thing would be to invite you to submit a resume and actually have someone give you feedback, even if they aren't hiring you.

IRT to your last point. Success Academy Charter Schools is launching it's new veteran hiring initiative. One of the key points is that we have veterans reviewing and contacting individuals within 24 hours...with advice and position recommendations.

It is the largest charter school in New York City, with a total of 2,000 employees. That is at both the 41 schools and the network office. We are currently hiring for the opening of six schools for the upcoming school year as well as network positions.

Here are a few thoughts and questions I would hope to be answered on this landing page.
1. I don't want to see an MOS translator. Show me what a sample of your veterans are doing inside the company today. If you have trend data on what military backgrounds are in what roles, that would be excellent. Show me how well you know your veteran workforce.
2. What training or leadership programs are available to me?
3. Who can I network with inside the company to tell me what it's like to work there?
4. Less badges & awards. More stories of wildly successful veterans. Show me how high I can go.

Don't actually see too many. Those I have are just boilerplate crap and stock photos in the background. The only one I found that seemed to have some depth to it provided a link for potential job candidates to contact an employee who is a veteran who can best discuss the opportunities and company culture with respect to veteran hires. That, on the surface, was an attention grabber!
So out of curiosity, I submitted my inquiry.
That was over two months ago; ain't heard a damn thing back!
Moral of the story is there is a lot of lip-service out there, but if a company actually wants to recruit veterans and transitioning service members--for whatever reason--they damn well better have follow through when seeking to engage potential job recruits. A splashy "landing page" don't count for shit if there's no real substance behind it.
