What are my options after being automatically reassigned to a new MOS in which I have no intention of re-enlisting?

I received an email this morning from Retention informing me my MAR 2 was complete and I was now a 25U and needed to re-enlist. I checked my ERB and it already reflects this. My ETS is in June and i have no intention of re-enlisting as a 25U because i see no benefit to that MOS in the civilian sector. I will speak to Retention on Mon, but what happens now?

I was 25U a while back.... I was with an aviation BDE (10th CAB to be precise) and I proved to be very good with computers and networking so they had me focus on that and not so much on the radios. I am now working in the private sector doing network administration. It also helps when you go to college, you will get credits for all of the time you spent doing all of the IT stuff, so if you think you might go the route of IT then I would suggest trying to get a B or N slot but if they are only offering U try to get your choice of unit, go aviation, they don't tend to have a lot of radio comms (at least none that 25 series work on, it was always the avionics guys) that way you can focus your time and energy on the IT side of the U

I was not happy when I got to AIT and found out that 25U had little to do with computers. I told the recruiter I wanted a job with computers, that's where my strengths lie, ever since the 5th grade.... so I had to make the most of it and it n the end I enjoyed my time as a U, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I would still be a U (or a warrant officer flying helicopters) if it weren't for freaking brain cancer, and subsequent seizures.... SGM Matthew Quick -

Hear them out and see what they have to say. Then make the decision thats right for you.

The MAR2 just says that you are medically retainable with your profile in that particular MOS. Now you are able to reenlist in that MOS, another MOS that you're medically qualified for or ETS.

1SG (Join to see), the MAR2 decision requires one of three actions: Retain in current MOS, Reclassify, or Refer to Medical Evaluation Board (MEB).
SGT (Join to see) is saying he was reclassified and does not want the MOS he was given (which is most likely the MOS with the closest available training seat that he medically qualifies for.)
