I knew a Soldier with the last name Major and he was a sergeant, so when someone would call his name SGT Major, Soldiers would go to parade rest or the Sergeant Major (E-9) would turn around.

Aside from the classics, I have seen a Seaman Samples, and a Sergeant Vader.
I have always wanted to see a Captain Crunch, America or Planet.

I remember seeing a photo on Facebook awhile back showing a "Captain Obvious" (he was wearing Captain rank and his name tape said Obvious) wearing the old BDUs, standing in front of the American flag, and wearing a big grin on his face. If it was real it's priceless!

I have seen a LT Sargent and a Specialist Major. Last name combos in formation; Smalls and ball, Nugyen and burns (win burns)

When I was in JR High, we had a sub teacher name Mr. Head and his first name was Richard. There was a romour his wife was named Anita. He also had a pony tail which I heard he quit because the teacher teased him about his pony tail.

I met a MAJ Crunch, which was funny in retrospect. A LT Killjoy, who hopefully makes O-4. And a SGT Obvious, who I really really wish would go to OCS and get CPT. But other than that, none that were too funny right off the bat. I always get a lot of comments about my last name though.

When I was a PVT 14 years ago my unit had a LT Dick, I would imagine if he is still in he would be a MAJ Dick Lol But, he was a really cool guy.

SFC Rich Carey
I almost made a mistake in basic training. The first day at reception station the Drill SGT came in yelling and yell Dick what are you doing? My natural reaction and I caught myself, How did you know my name? My dad and I were named Richard so I was called by my nickname, and you see where that is going....

I was stationed with a SGT Major in Ft Hood in the mid-90s, I remember that happening all the time.
I also knew a MAJ Major, CPT and SGT Cox, Major Tule, but the worse one of all was a LT Vulva and it was a female to boot.
We also had a platoon SGT named Richard Johnson, and he went by Dick.

SFC Carey, I used to keep a notebook full of them for a future book of my own...until someone stole it...many were names that were oddly related to their profession. Maj. Dollar, the Finance Officer; Dr. Wisdom the Dentist. Dr. Chance the surgeon. There was a dallas lady (at least we hope she was whose legal name was, well, this is a family forum so skip that one). We had a spokesperson named Yell; a real Major Major, and a real Sergeant Sergeant who ended up being Sergeant Sergeant Major. I kept a story from the Atlanta Constitution once about a woman named Female (FEE-MALL-AAY)...her mother said the name came from a bracelet that was placed on the baby's wrist.....I have an ancestor named America, and a relative named Planet....I can go on. You can't make this stuff up....

PO2 Jonathan Scharff
SGM (Join to see) my father was a banker and kept a similar list of names that appeared on loan documents:
Chanda Leer
Chrystal Chanda Lear
Former Senator Hogg from TX named his daughter Ima...yes Ima Hogg!
I wish I could remember more but sadly the list was lost also.
You're right you can't make this stuff up.

I met Seaman Spillers, Seaman Shoots, yes even SEAMAN TOPPING! True stories. I could keep going, but that'll 'water-down' this post, no pun intended
