Or even packet MOS's. Any interesting ones? I have nothing against being a 42A, I love working in an S1 (most of the time), however I don't want to be stuck working in one my entire military career (I've only been in 5 years now, 8 after I finish my current assignment)

What are some special/broadening assignments for 42A? And if you worked in that assignment, or know someone who did, how was it?

Try for instructor. It's a lot of fun.

Small Group Leader for BLC. you would be surprised at what you learn from Soldiers and your peers in this type of an environment.

If you want something challenging, look into recruiting. I’m a 42A as well and have been in USAREC for about 1.5 years.

See if you can get into command inspections at a higher echelon. It gives you a chance to really drill down on regulations, and a view that you don''t get when you are grinding through the work.
