What are some tips to make my packet WOFT packet more competitive? Also, how is life as an Army aviator?

Hey RP. I am currently speaking with a recruiter about going back in through WOFT.
I was looking to get some tips/pointers to make the application process more smooth. What can help my packet? What will hurt it? What to/not to expect during it all, etc.
I am currently a contractor in AFG so I have some time before I’m back in the states and fully beginning. I have ordered a SIFT study guide to prepare me for that once I’m back and sent to MEPS.
Also for the Letter of Recommendations, I currently have 2 - one from my uncle whose a retired LTC Air Force Pilot and my step-dads friends whose a retired Army Aviator. Seeing these were fortunately family, what is a good route to take as far as getting in touch with Chiefs to pursue LOR’s?
And to top it off, any and all input on what to expect out of the life of an Army Aviator would be awesome. I’ve always dreamt of flying and I believe doing so for my country would be the greatest honor.

Any Army Aviation units near where you are working or near your stateside resident? LOR from a currently serving Aviation Warrant would look "better" in your packet.

Unfortunately the compound we work on consists of an infantry 82nd Company, 2d Ranger BN and 1st SFG.
I intend to have 3-4 current Warrant Aviators as my LOR’s and the 2 current ones I have would be as back up to add to the packet.

Get the highest SIFT score you can possible achieve. A little secret I learned while commanding WO recruiters: Aviation branch WO proponent folks always asked for a minimum of 90 on the old FAST but only looked packets with over a 100. Hence my advice.

Myself and the Adjutant plus the PBO who took my job when I was moved to the group HQ were the only officers who were not pilots. I replaced a cw2 named Len Burk who had been Medical Supply. Wally Hammer replaced me as the PBO for the 180th. The army is begging for Pilots. 750 short. I did not go to WOSC. I was a direct appointee. I did attend Warrant Officer Senior Course at Fort Rucker in 1988. I know aviator's. Good life but dangerous.

Thank you for that input.
I ordered a SIFT study guide to ensure I’m adequately prepared. I still have a few more months in theatre before my contract ends. That should allow me plenty of time to study and achieve a high SIFT score.

I found this as a freebie awhile back, trust me, download it, I think you'd find it useful...it's help, as with all.career/educ threads I see, I have an interest in such things, to know a good deal.more, so far as you'd care to go into, OK? Assocs? Bach? Majors? Grades? GPAs? specific STEM.and non-STOP coursework you've done thus far? With your family.and friends, I don't want to overreach myself, of course, I'm merely asking purely out of curiosity, I've heard both ways, that a technical background can help, or hinder, I've heard both thohghts, with technical training relative to flight...we have a family friend who'd been Army enlisted, he went Army WOCS, got rotary wing, did his bach in aviation with Embry Riddle, then Army released him, USCG picked him up, he finished his 20 yrs as a USCG O-3 rotary wing...I've heard Army WOCS can be a rough program, both from him, as well as seen it from others in here, as well, so, hobbies, reading interests, sports esp martial.we're if any, it's help us all get a more.complete.view.Of your mind and intellect, that's my sole reason for asking, no rush, whenever you'd want if you'd care to chat more, OK?
