Hello, I'm a 68W reclass attempting to go active duty. What are the top 3 best infantry units to go to and what base are they stationed? Just looking for opinions.

If you're reclassing you're not going to get a choice where you can go.
What you can volunteer for is 75th Ranger Regiment. There's no better unit for a 68W to be stationed in

Being at 10th Mountain currently at Fort Drum I can say it's an amazing place to be. The biggest complaint anyone ever has here is that it gets really cold in the winter.
All units under 10th Mountain are pretty similar so if you come here expect to PT, A LOT. Like many other units we have a time 12 mile ruck standard however it is every quarter and have to get it under 3 hours. We also have a 4 mile, 32 min standard that has to be upkept as well. If you want to go to Air Assault while you're here it's insanely easy, we have our own Resident course here at the Lightfighter School. Also like many other units claim to be... 10th Mountain is the most deployed unit in the U.S. Army. "Since 2001, the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) has been the most deployed unit in the US military.[4] Its combat brigades have seen over 20 deployments, to both Iraq and Afghanistan, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.".
Also as for the Winters, the beautiful Summers make up for it!

Straight from our Fort Drum Pam 600-5 "The Division PT goals are running 4 miles in 32 minutes, 12 mile foot movement under a 35 pound load (Quarterly), 270 on the standard APFT, and 500 on the ACFT."
It's a very enforced "Desired Standard" haha. But with the constant PT here it isn't that unreasonable. If you aren't up to standard when you first arrive you'll get there pretty quick and hopefully not burn out at PT. Unit PT is generally the standard
Monday/Wednesday 5+ Miles or Sprints, Tuesday/Thursday Circuit PT or Combat PT, and Friday a Ruck. With that it's also expected that you PT after work to better yourself. We had quite a few people run the Norwegian Foot March (18.6 Mile Ruck) last week in 3 HR 5 Min- 3 HR 25 Min last week.

Very prideful Division I'd say and because of that they try to maintain an extremely high standard. But the community itself is honestly really good and makes up for the crazy PT Standards. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful ^

What are the skiing standards, that is what the 10th famous for. I heard that they started the civilian skiing craze in the US.

I'm going to take more convincing that the nice summers make up for the 9' average winters snowfall and 8 degree January averages. I was born in South Dakota and I don't move back for a similar reason.
