I use a couple apps that assist me with being in the military. We are more and more dependent on our smart phones. Forcereadiness.com made some FM's in apps. I have the Infantry FM on my phone. I also use an Android app called US Military Pay Calculator. It will assist you with calculating you pay for those that are active and reserve with all of the extras pays in there, to include your BAH. The last one I use is called military awards. It basically makes a copy of your rack so you can put all of your ribbons in the right place.<div><br></div><div>What apps do you use and have they benefited you while being in the military?</div>

"Leader Book" - You can generate reports on your soldiers in PDF format, and set notifications, i.e., when its about time to start monthly counseling's you will get a notification. If you unlock the application ($5 IIRC) you can do unlimited soldiers/reports. It covers DOR, blood type, MOS, counseling dates, APFT, Schools, Administrative info, Medical info as well as Personal Info (Family, etc). I think its an awesome app!

The Army Leader Book iPhone app is developed by a former NCO, Jimmy Ho. He’s seen first-hand what can happen when Soldiers are neglected.

Great question, sir! My favorite app is called "Army PRT" by the U.S. Army Soldier Support Institute. It has a metronome for the slow, medium, and fast count, recommended PRT schedules and list of all PRT exercises, an APFT calculator and body composition tool, a run timer, and a downloadable FM 7-22.

Wow, that is good one. I like the metronome function. We used that in Infantry Officers School. It really makes a difference at what pace you go at when doing PT.

PushUp Warrior is a great App, one of the reasons why I still can knock out 100 push ups in 2 min. There are a few others out there that probably do just as well.

Alas, sir, that appears to be an iPhone-only app. It isn't listed in Google Play. I'll keep an eye out for when it becomes available on Android.

The is quite an achievement for a person of your age, or should I say experience. I can't even do that.

check out Training for Warriors and look at the 4 minute push up challenge. Do that every morning for PT and you will be at or close to 100 before you know it.

Also, RallyPoint v0.1 for Android. It doesn't have the edit feature yet, but it's faster than accessing RP from my phone's browser (Firefox).

Although I am infantry I asked to be a Commo Officer. I am really a big geek when it comes to tech.

SGT Haranzo, Chrome is good but uses an insane amount of memory. It launches a separate process for each tab you open; more memory/cpu used means slower performance overall.
If you only open 1 tab at a time and don't need cool features like Gestures, Chrome is fine.

I use "seconds Free" and the 550 core fitness calculator. seconds is not really and Army ap but its pretty kick ass for circuit days. Think I just about used up my data down loading these apps and browsers i never heard of

The Navy Career Counselor Website, that got migrated to NKO, had a retirement calculator to help determine what retirement to pick. It also was good to determine an estimate prior to retiring.

Leader's e-Book, great for a digital personal data sheet. Has pretty much everything.

As good as the Leader's book is I feel a small hard copy would be better. I mean you can't take your phone or tablet everywhere as it could get ruined by rain or other circumstances. I made my mine using a Flight check book, printed the pages in a smaller size and can write with erasable ink. If a Soldiers PSC's or ETS's just wipe the info and input the new one. I personally feel we need to steer away from all the tech things and stick to the old school by finding more usable portable ways.
