We invite everyone, veterans and civilian, men and women, young and old, to join us
DAV is the most long-lasting veterans advocacy and assistance group in this country. We’ve watched this country change and grow, and we’ve grown along with it. However, DAV has never wavered in its core mission to fulfill our country’s promises to the men and women who served. We invite everyone, veterans and civilian, men and women, young and old, to join us as we stand up for those veterans who risked it all when they stood up for us, our country, and our ideals.

Veterans Benefits
Veterans benefits include programs, services, and compensation provided by the Veterans Administration, but also many others provided by non-profits and organizations just looking to help. I've tried to include many of them here. Since an all encompassing list is not possible, I've tried to find lesser well known veterans benefits and programs that are especially good deals. You'll also find lists of veterans discounts and links to resources that provide more specifics. This list is organized alphabetically by category: Career, Discounts, Education, Entrepreneurship, Health, Mental Health, Recreation, Other, Veterans Affairs Benefits, and Veterans Day. (I've included my own notes in parentheses and italics for services I've used).

GRE and GMAT Reimbursement - DANTES reimburses the GMAT or GRE General fee for eligible military personnel. (Use it! Even if you don't plan on going to school, the test scores are good for up to 5 years at most schools, so you don't have to worry about shelling out for the test if you decide to go later on. Worst case, you got some practice in. Does take some leg work going to the education center and getting your paper work in line and you have to pay up front so make sure you check all the right steps).

Complete this as soon as you get your final physical done. Check your local VA rep on base for details and help on submitting. I received my claims within 8-9 months - not exactly 60 days, but better than getting stuck in the system for years).
