May is a month which is chock full of reminders about military service for those serving, those supporting the people who are serving and those who died while in the service of this nation.
We are living in turbulent times yet I believe we have much to be thankful for. I am thankful:
1. that our armed forces are still attracting highly qualified, conscientious, and motivated soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines.
2. that this nation is still generally the land of the free and more certainly the home of the brave.
3. for the privilege of serving this nation for so many years and getting to work with and know so many of those who served with me.
4. for the love of my wife and sons.
5. for my daily and eternal salvation through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

for the few moments I get to spend with my two boys. Every time goes much too fast compared to when they are so far away. The moments they aren't though? They're the best.

I'm thankful for plenty. I am thankful to have been born an American. Our nation, even with its faults. Is still the best place to be. I am thankful, to all my brothers and sisters in uniform. Those that I served with, and the ones I didn't. I am most thankful to my family. We are not the closest, but, we are working on it. We share our family heritage, and that we have lived full productive lives, and raised our kids right.

That I am not in a parade where the band/s are so far from the company that the Captain and I each lose our voices trying to keep everyone in step!

What am I thankful for this Armed Forces Day?
1.) That I'm proud to live in the greatest Nation on the face of the earth!
2.) That my family has served this Nation all the way back to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Panama, Iraq.
3.) That I can stand shoulder to shoulder with all my military Brothers and Sisters
4.) That we are FREE to live our lives.
5.) And most importantly, My Salvation through my Savior Jesus Christ, who I am and will always be a Warrior for.
6.) Lastly, the three greatest gifts given to me: God, Country & Family!

Thank you SPC Robert Treat, for your service to this nation. I am very thankful for our shared faith in Christ. Your stand on the shoulders of your ancestors who fought in the previous wars is something to be truly proud of.

I am thankful for those who served before me, who made the mistakes so that we learned and set the bench mark so high so that we could excel to their level.

I am thankful to those who served with me, who bleed when needed, persevered always, and showed bravery and honor to be compared to our ancestors.

I am thankful to those that serve after me and will continue to serve. To learn from our mistakes, aspire to our standards and show us there is still more to give and push the limits of honor and bravery to points higher then we thought possible.

God bless them one and all.
