I can't say I'm surprised that this is all happening. Right now I'm just sad and frustrated.

As the wife of an Iraqi veteran, I am appalled at the lack of leadership and the miscalculation that may lead to mass casualties. 1. Why were the embassy and the visa holders not evacuated sooner? 2. Why are they sending in more troops when the goal is mass evacuations? This seems like a suicide mission to me. Reminds me of Benghazi and Clinton laughing about how few deaths there were; they were AVOIDABLE deaths! Biden has informed the media (and the Taliban) that all of the diplomats and Afghan helpers are held up at the airport. Why wouldn’t the Taliban take advantage of this information and claim victory over the US with a mass bombings? Let’s just give them our playbook. SMH. I agree with the withdrawal, but not the lack of coordination!!!! I am horrified of what may happen in the next 48 hours.

All it would take now is for North Korea, China, or Russia to step in and HELP the Taliban and if you think we had some problems with terrorism here in the past ...Watch out! We should have ALWAYS had a permanent base there to keep our stronghold and just lessen the time the crybabies are deployed there. That place might be made out of desert but it is VALUABLE strategically. The further we can stretch our spying eyes on the rest of the crazy world-the better!

Ann, as a South Vietnam combat veteran of 1967-68, I watched the transfer of power from the United States to a civilian government and then the overthrow of that gov. to the North Vietnam Army. Upon the end of our Invasion and occupation of Afghanistan for 20 years, it was past time to leave this George W Bush / Richard Cheney F**k up. In what ways? Any way is/was the right way. Lesson's learned for now, until another Bush comes along and do another Vietnam/Iraq/Afghanistan Crusade. Oil paid in Blood is expensive. JNF

I wish I was active duty with a lot of rank to tell these military leaders HOW we should leave! Also, this is what we get when we leave military dismissions up to Civilian Presidents. They only weigh profits! 1) Establish a HUGE Afghan army, make it non-voluntary, at least for 10 years. Each person serves 3 years with pay. (Just like South Korea). 2) Establish a better transparent government where the US has a lot of say since we are fighting for them and funding them. Create better human rights laws. 3) Establish outer perimeters like "THE WALL" and at the markets too- pedestrians only, screeners, and Social Security type ID's for random scanning. If you don't have one, you can't move around. 4) Yeah, .. OK, we own 1/3 of their oil as payment for all this ISH!!! I think these are the things we missed to keep the terrorists out and establish a fighting force and strong government. We only sprayed them with raid- you gotta go get to the nest where they're born.

As a patriotic retired veteran, today I am ashamed to fly the Colors.
And, I feel bad about having that feeling. This just makes me sick to my stomach, is VERY sad.
