I can't say I'm surprised that this is all happening. Right now I'm just sad and frustrated.

It was time, even with the deaths to come. We never learn; you cannot give freedom, the Afghans as a whole had to earn it. Apparently too few willing to die for their country. AND sad many brave Afghans died too.

Our military made a terrible decision by providing the Afghans with contractors to maintain aircraft and ground equipment. When they found out the US was leaving, it looks like they did all but run over women and kids to get out of Dodge. Afghans should have been trained in their own support. More importantly, deja vu, you can’t fight a war with safe harbors. If you aren’t willing to destroy those supporting the combatant enemies wherever they are, in any country, don’t go to war. PERIOD.

Shame, disgust, mad as hell another democratic controlled traitorous government has again dishonored America, again spat on the men and women who fought and put it all on the line when called on. Destroyed our reputation. We ran with our tails between our legs and abandoned the Afghans who looked up to us and trusted us. Hell we even abandon US citizens left trapped at the mercy of the Taliban.
But worst of all I feel guilty when I think about the Afghans I worked with in Kabul same same as I felt guilty about the ARVNs I fought along side in Nam. I cannot sleep, I am drowning in guilt.
I am still very proud of the men and women who fought and served proudly. This includes the donut dollies, AAFES people and the troops from the NATO nations and friendly nations such as Mongolia, Singapore....

I have several friends that are still unaccounted for over there, and a few friends that know of people unaccounted for.... I have Afghani friends that have gone silent and it is my hope that they are still alive.

I feel betrayed... I feel that everything I did...everything I gave up... everything that I went through was for basically nothing

I feel heartsick that the military and political people in any position that could have, should have stood up and said "HELL NO, WE CANNOT LEAVE YET" did not do so.

I can tell you this in 100% confidence....
If I had been there in May as this plan was going down, and I found out that 72,000 SIV (Special Immigrant Visas) were still not out of the country.... that thousands of US military contractors were still there with no plan for them to fly out when the last C-17 lifted off....

I'm still dumbfounded that we decided to pull out of Bagram Airfield (100% defensible) before leaving Kabul International Airport (nowhere to hide or concentrate fires= death trap)

I would have called for a Media Team ...I would found an news outlet and told everyone I could...."We are about to leave these people to their deaths..."

I would have sacrificed my military career to point out to the world that we were not following a reasonable exit strategy.

I honestly thought the exit strategy was what IU had been briefed a decade ago
1- Pull out of the COP's in year 1
2- Pull out of the FOB's in year 3
3- Pull back to the COB's in year 5-6
4- Pull back to the Primary COB (Bagram Airfield) in year 8-10
5- Remain in the Primary COB for at least another 5 years
6- Never pull out completely, or if you ever do...get everyone out that matters before the Primary COB closes down
Finally- only close down the Primary COB after the very last person that can face any reprisal and all others are on that last plane or already out

Note- if you are closing it down, make sure that the local military have taken possession for at least a week or more before you go and at that point only have military personnel there in a tight perimeter around the airfield itself

Looks like we kind of did 1-3....and failed misrerably at all the rest

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to Know that the majority of these people through out the world are Idiots .These yati yatis are always gonna believe what they were taught since the day they came out of their mothers twat . They believe that they are right and that we are wrong . Where were they when Hitler was taking over ? They had their heads in the sand . To the victors goes the spoils . Everything America has acquired came at a Great Price . American blood on the battle field . To these morons America is the the Great satan . I don't think so . Ask Audie Murphy and the rest of the heroes who gave their lives for this country .

Hey, they didn't want to fight 300,000 soldiers arm to the teeth give up in 11 days? Now everyone wants to blame President Biden. Fighting the taliban who wear slippers and living in caves. They didn't fight now they are crying.

We can't be there forever. It was beyond time to leave. It just should have been done with more finesse.

I truly believe that Biden had that planned all along. He is a disgrace and It should have been all the Americans out of that country before anyone else.
