Thinking about a PCS to Fort Stewart I’m a 91M so I’ll be in a heavy brigade but I’ve heard mixed reviews about it some to the point of saying that it’s a 100% don’t go there, and some I’ve heard it’s alright, anyone that is currently there in a heavy brigade or has been there in the past I want your opinion !

I was with 703rd MSB which no longer exist. At least not at Ft Stewart. I was in the only transportation company in the division. The training tempo was intense. I had no problems being there. If you remember that Ft Stewart is a rapid deployment mechanized armor playground you will be fine. Ft Stewart is a place where you actually train to do ARMY shit. 3rd ID has a proud history in the defense of out nation. If your looking for a place where the food is great, the time off is plentiful, and rigors of training are non existent than Ft Stewart will burn you up like a burnt match. If you wanna train, get uber proficient in your MOS and have pride in your unit Ft Stewart is a great place to be. Remember also if your outdoorsy and a US history buff the surrounding area is a bread basket for both hobbies.

I am going there myself in 2 weeks. Never trust others when it comes to picking a instillation, every experience is different. Such as I am at Fort Benning and love it, but others think this is the worst place ever. It’s all in the job you do and how you approach it.

I wasn't a fan of FT. Benning...then again, that was OSUT, so that may effect my perceptions. LOL. You are absolutely correct. When it comes to what posts are good ones, its HIGHLY subjective (that said, I don't know too many people who were stationed at Polk or Irwin who "enjoyed" it). I was at Bliss for 3 years, and loved both it, and El Paso; other folks found Ft. Bliss to be just this side of Hell. Mileage does vary.

I’m a 19D here at stewart, it’s been getting very busy here since we are taking off to NTC here soon. Lots of training and long days, mostly past 1700. Depending on which brigade you go to, 1st is where I’m at and we work a lot, so if your thinking of coming down just get ready to tighten your belt and take off your top because it’s hot! Lol
