Curious what my fellow Brothers and Sisters in Arms feel about this presidential emergency declaration and putting our Military on the southern border. It's been an issue for years, nothing new, but I also see it as an abuse of authority using our Military for border. Thoughts?

I believe it is a valid use of Presidential authority.

I also believe that President Trumps Declaration is valid as far as redirecting budget dollars to the wall, but it sets a HORRIBLE precedent. Proof that just because you can, does not mean you should.

Have we had repeated people breaking our border laws? Have we had repeated easy illegal entrance to our border? Do we stop drug traffickers coming into the country? Do we stop human traffickers? Do we know if we have stopped North Koreans crossing the border? What about Iranian terror groups which are living the South Am Tri-State area? Why are we waiting for our enemies to come through before we do something? (That does not seem smart.)

I served along the border way back in 1995 with Task Force 6. It’s been renamed to Joint Task Force. http://www.northcom.mil/Newsroom/Article/563131/joint-task-force-six-gets-new-name-new-mission/
