I personally love to lead by example and plan on buying them once I have Soldiers that have them because the best way to show them how they are worn is to wear them yourself.

If I can avoid buying yet another uniform in the next 4 years until I hit 20, then I will. We didn't need this at all. But it is what it is. I'm just tired of buying uniforms.

SSG Benjamin C. - Because it's expected from leaders way up the food chain to have leaders at lower levels to expend the $$$ for "esprit de corps" to those they're in charge of.

SSG Benjamin C. - I believe it's up to commands to make it the office uniform if you work on staff...and I usually work on staff.

Reminds me of the WWII uniforms.

SSG Don Smith - Exactly, from what I have read, that was the idea.

I think they are a sharp looking uniform. I love the WWII look. I think it is the most iconic period of the Army. I remember the the old school regreens. I wasn't a fan of them. they didn't look the part. I think these should have replaced. I wish that was an option. I will be getting a set as soon as they are able to purchase.

SFC Kenneth Hunnell I still think this uniform looks way better and way more fitting as a look for our Army than the current service uniform.

SSG Benjamin C. - The standard ASU looks like a cheap suit, I still have my Dress greens they issued me. Granted the new uniform looks better than the other ones

Honestly, I am just glad it will be Green again...No other color says Army better than Green, especially OD.

Iconic? When we encapsulate history, we seldom fail to it was not good for everyone, and why some of us would rather not return to the past.

Considering I just purchased my blues and set them up for a DA photo (which now we aren’t doing), I won’t be buying the new uniform for at least a couple of years.

MAJ (Join to see) - That makes too much sense...Buying uniforms as a RC is ridiculous. Luckily us enlisted get them issued. If it is required, the Army must provide.

I just took a DA photo. They are used for more than promotion. But in the reserves I don't think they have much value outside the promotion system.

MSG (Join to see) -Between '89 and '90, I worked along side an E-6 that had that attitude.... he still wore his 1976 issued "Banana yellow" PT outfit. didn't bother to update his uniforms as DA made changes, thought the 'clothing allowance' was a bonus for staying in. Same with his Class A's... and he was to be my Squad leader...
