We all have little perks while on active duty...some are fringe benefits, some are overt all out being catered to...is there one or two benefits you miss most.
Ie. Px, Commissary, Base Accces, free medical, free chow, free room and board, free uniforms, while many of these are considered part of our pay, I always looked at it as a perk.
Or is it space available, GSA vehicles, VIP status while traveling, MWR, or just discounts in general?

Army can't just go to a CIF and turn in old uniforms for new ones. Ray Davies, the NCO and O clubs are long gone.

PO3 Thomas Murray - I have vision care through the VA. $1.00 steaks? I'm lost there (but it doesn't really matter to me because my man raises his own steer).

The $1.00 steaks were in the NCO club. I am not disabled so I only get Primary Care.

PO3 Thomas Murray - I'd suggest looking into the vision care. I'm not disabled either but I've gotten prescription eyeglasses in Massachusetts and in Iowa.

The benefit I miss the most is the honor and priviledge of wearing my U.S. Marine Corps uniform.

Sgt Jay Jones - Don't they have parades in your town that requests you to wear your uniform? (Usually the 4th of July).

PO3 Maureen Ruane - it is my understanding that only Retirees are authorized to wear their uniform. I do being to the VFW which allows me to at least wear my VFW hat.

Sgt Jay Jones - I don't have any of my uniforms anyway, but I know vets that do wear their uniforms in the parades in the color guard. Since I didn't have a uniform, I wore my AmVet t-shirt and carried their flag.

Sgt Jay Jones - Actually ANY person that served Active Duty and was Honorably discharged is allowed to wear their uniform for special events, parades, weddings, award ceremonies etc.
