Things you can do or say at basic to ensure additional smoke sessions.
I thought this would be a good way to add some humor to the discussions list.

Things like...:

- Simply ask "Why?" for anything.
- "That was easy." after getting smoked
- Complain about the heat/cold
- Touch the campaign hat.

The way we did it, when I was in Boot camp was the smokers got to take brakes with the Drill Sargent/Company Commander. And the silly/stupid people got to go around and pick up the Smokers butts. So it you wanted breaks...you smoked.

I was sent by one DS to sit down with another at the chow hall. That didn't go over well.

When I went to basic, we had one knucklehead that had been in JROTC and was on the drill team. He thought he already knew everything, but what he did was often not right and just made the DS angry. Poor kid was always in trouble.

Have your retired USMC uncle send you a letter with a huge golden EGA next to the return address (at Ft. Jackson).

The elephant in the room for me is, do NBC protocols no longer exist in the U.S. Navy? Yes, Covid19 is deadly as in the flu on steroids. This Captain ignored all that and basically showed a bunch of terrorists that all they have to do is to release a biological agent upwind of a U.S. Naval vessel and everything will come to screeching halt. In my humble opinion, he failed his country, he failed his mission, and ultimately, the failed those who were under his command.

Impersonations, would be a good place to start.

Hell, just go get yourself an ice-cream cone, at the mess.

That area at the end of the chow line that has the cake and pie on little plates, go ahead and grab one for desert. It'll be good.

I was anmused one time, when someone said "You can't smoke a rock". 30 minutes after the entire platoon started being smoked...Well he changed his mind.

Ask: "Once we finish here at Basic, does the real training start?"
