"Ship, underway, shellback, etc... I know it's a sailor or Coastguardsman
"Latrine, Hooah, ruck march, tents, etc... I know it's a Soldier
"Oorah, crayons, air force girls, Teufel, Devil Dog, etc... I know it's a Marine
"Hotel, Room Service, heated blanket, etc... I know it's an Airman

As a new PVT, I got that explained to me at Ft Knox, by a civilian at the Armor Museum. "The Army has posts, all other services have bases".

Little correction. Snipe refers to both Monkey Mates (steam plant operators) and BT's (Boiler Tech's) and when the Snipes don't groove, the ship don't move!
