National Alliance on Mental Illness has some programs that are geared towards military families. The basic premise is we have to recognize mental illness just like we recognize other illnesses and not some plague. Mental illness strikes all of us in some form or manner. And to top it off, it's all free.

Besides the VA, there is also Vet Centers. Unfortunately, in my area it is at least an hour drive to the VA Clinic and at least 3 1/2 hours to a Vet Center......so I managed to get VA to pay for me going to see someone here in town. The bigger cities seem to have alot more stuff and those of us here in small towns are forgotten.
